AIMM Vice President Dr. A. Prabakaran E. Arulanandam

Dr A Prabakaran has more than 30 years of experience as a Medical Professional. He has held various positions as a Senior Medical Officer with the Ministry of Health, Malaysia in both Clinical and Non-Clinical Administrative roles. He was trained as Public Speaker to provide medical education in Non -Communicable Diseases by the Negeri Sembilan State Health Department. He has attended many courses in the various medical disciplines such as Non -Communicable Diseases, Primary Care Medicine, Public Health and Emergency Medicine but his special interest is in the field of Non- Communicable Diseases including Mental Health and Integrative Medicine. He served as a Senior Medical Officer in the Non- Communicable Diseases with the Ministry of Health, Malaysia from 2006 till his retirement in 2024.

He completed his Master in Business Administration (MBA) in 2023. He believes that the essence of a good life is keeping physically fit and having a good balance between mental and spiritual activities as an Anti-Aging activity. There is a strong Mind-Body connection between illness and wellness, His area of focus in Integrative Medicine is on Lifestyle Modification for Wellness,

He has an interest in physical activities for health and attends classes in Zumba and Go Bhangra.  His other interests include the practice of Mindfulness, Meditation, the Traditional Indian Martial Art of Silambam  and self-taught lifelong education.

He is currently the Vice President of the Association of Integrative Medicine Malaysia (AIMM) and has been actively involved in organizing several international integrative medicine conferences.

He is a Life Member of the Association of Integrative Medicine Malaysia, the Malaysian Medical Association ( MMA), the Manipal Alumni Association of Malaysia ( MAAM), a member of the International Manipal Relations Alumni as well as the Veritas University College MBA Alumni.

AWARDS

During his service with the Ministry of Health, Malaysia MOH), he was awarded the       Commemorative Medal by His Royal Highness, the Yang Di Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus , Tuanku Muhriz Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir in 2009 and Excellent   Service Award ( Sijil Perkhidmatan Cemerlang ) in 2005.
